My brother

So I was talking to my brother the other day on IM.

Me: Hey could you tell mom to call me some time? I can never get ahold of her cuz dad's always on the internet.
Him: Sure.
Me: They really need to get voicemail or something.
Him: yeah or DSL
Me: So anything knew with you?
Him: Diana (his gf) is moving off base
Me: oh I didn't know she was living on base why is she moving?
Him: cuz base sucks
Me: um ok so why was she living on base in the first place?
Him: Cuz that's where her hubby lives
Me: uh hubby? uh okay
Him: yeah she finally got enough money to move out with the kids
Me: ok good for her I guess. She moving in with you?
Him: God no! And don't tell mom, she doesn't know about this.

So my brother is seeing someone that's still married and has kids. He hates kids I'm not really sure what he's doing with her. He says they broke up a few days ago but t hey're back together cuz he "didn't have anything to lose". Okay whatever. So we got to talking about how he never wants kids and doesn't want any girls moving in cuz he likes his space. Which is a lot like the way I feel. I don't want kids and I don't want to move in with Doug either because I like my space too. Bro thinks it has something to do with the way we were raised. Maybe so, I dunno. I was married once for 9 years. I know what it's like and well it wasn't really that great. I'm sure it can be with the right person though. Right now though, I'm in the liking my space mode. Sleep overs are always nice but I like having a place to call my own. I have been thinking for a while about finding a smaller place, a place that doesn't require so much yard work. I don't mind a little yard work but geez mine is just crazy. I bought a riding lawn mower last year from a gal in my van pool for $100 or something. It's not quite in working condition though. It has an oil leak and the battery doesn't seem to stay charged so I've got to get it looked at so I can start using it this year. Some of my neighbors have already mowed their lawns this year. The weather has just been so nice for the last week or two. Doug and I went for a nice bike ride yesterday. We are back to rain today though. :(

Candles for PB Loco

So I worked out this deal with Javvy (I refuse to call him Beowo1|=!) to send me some PB Loco in exchange for some candles. :D

He seems to like the candles I gave him for Christmas. I still have some of those scents leftover but I have a few new ones too. I'm not sure which ones to do for him. What do you think Javvy? And no you can't have all of them if that's what you're thinking. Here's what I've got.

Moe, I still plan on seeing you sometime soon to give you a mulberry, let me know if any of these others strike your fancy and I'll make you some too.

This is not meant to steal any business away from Silly Scented Serra. I'm not really in the retail business of selling candles I just started making these mainly for gifts and for myself. Thanks to Serra's help and suggestions getting me started with this stuff, it's a lotta fun!

The SSCINGULAR

My coworkers have a funny sense of humor. I've been meaning to post about this but haven't gotten around to taking a picture till today. I had someone showing me a design for some equipment we have in our network. I'm not sure how long it took me to notice. I'm guessing it was a few days but I looked over at my white board and someone had modified the drawing to make it look like a sailboat. I cracked up. Though at the time it said SSAWE on the boat AWE being for ATT Wireless umm not really sure what that E stood for but it was our stock symbol. Someone decided to change it to SSCINGULAR.

OWN - One World Network

At this rate we are going to have one big network owned by the same company or one company owned by several companies. Wonder who will be king? I just saw that Verizon is buying MCI for 6.7 Billion. A couple weeks ago it was announced that ATT was being bought by SBC. ATT Wireless has already been bought by Cingular after splitting off from our parent company ATT. I'm sure there are more buyings that have happened in the past couple years, I lose track. I know of several smaller companies that have been gobbled up by larger companies that no one really cares about. What a mess. Oh and in case you didn't know, Cingular is owned by SBC and BS. Are you confused yet? Why don't we all come together and make one big network that will be better than any that exist today? Let the companies unite!

Happy Valentines Day!

Well close enough. Doug and I celebrated on Saturday. We usually combine our anniversary and valentines day. We started going out around that time. It's been 3 years. Hard to believe it has been that long since the end of my marriage and the beginning of my new life and my relationship with Doug. We went out to dinner at El Gaucho, a very nice steakhouse in downtown Seattle. Kinda funny neither of us ordered steak though. I got one of the fish specials, Swordfish which was way yummay. Doug got the flaming game hen which actually comes out on skewer and they catch it on fire at the table. They also have a caesar salad that they prepare right at your table. They make the dressing in front of you from scratch.

We also exchanged gifts on saturday. I got him some cute little absinthe glasses with a devil on em and some devil absinthe spoons. He got me an ipod! I felt bad cuz I know he spent way more on my gift than I did on his. I've been wanting an ipod though I probably wouldn't have bought myself one. They are pretty kewl. I just downloaded a bunch of music onto it. Gonna use it at work and it will be good for our trip to Peru.

Speaking of Peru we made our flight reservations this weekend. The flight we wanted that goes the panama city wasn't available anymore. So that will let us spend one more day in Peru, either at Lake Titicaca or Arequipa which might allow us to go to a hot springs in colca canyan. We shall see. We still need to get a few immunizations. Gotta do that soon. We also made reservations for two nights at El Albergue's matrimonial suite for $30/nt near Machu Picchu.

We are planning on going out to lunch for valentines day and tuesday we are going to a dance to practice some of our swing moves

Stoopid People

I can't believe how stoopid some people can be. I mean really? Why can't we just shoot all the stoopid people?

So I went to Car Toys after work yesterday to see if they can do anything to fix my stereo. Turns out they bent some stuff on the front of the stereo, making it useless. Why damage something so bad while you're trying to steal it, making it useless junk? Tell meh?? I don't get it!! grr so I had to foot out another couple hundred dollars for a new stereo. I didn't get the Kenwood again. I decided to go with an Eclipse which is supposedly the least stolen car stereo. Not because it's a piece of crap, it's not a piece of crap btw. But because it locks up if you try to steal it and the only way to get it to work again is if you have the super secret cd that I used as my "CD key". If you're unsuccessful at guessing what cd is my Key CD it will lock you out and you have to take it in to a dealer to get it turned back on and once you do that they'll know it was stolen. So hah take that you car stereo stealers! It came with these cute little stickers I can put all over my car that say "WARNING Stolen radio is disabled and traced electronically". Maybe that'll scare em away! Oh also, if it gets stolen within a year the mfg will replace it! That's a damn good deal.

So now only thing left to fix is the plastic piece that goes around the stereo. I'll have to go to a dealer to get that replaced most likely. Stoopid people really erk me.

Stoopid Punks

So, Sunday Doug and I were planning to go watch the Superbowl at a bar near his house. That ended up not happening because of some stoopid ass hat punk kids.

SO here's what happened. Sunday morning about 4:20 Doug and I are awakened by some loud noise. Had no idea what it was sounded like someone dropped something large in the back of his condo or in a neighbor's garage. We both wake up and ask what was that? We laid there for a while not hearing anything. Was about to fall back asleep then we heard more clunking around though not as loud as before. I had then just remembered that I forgot to turn my car alarm. So Doug, the sweetie that he is, offered to go get my keys and turn on my alarm for me. Car is parked in back of his garage so he went out to my car via the garage where he found my car with a busted window. *sigh* So some tards broke into my car and tried to take my new stereo. I think the light that was turned on scared them off. They didn't quite make off with the stereo. Looked like they were pretty close to getting it out too. The plastic around the stereo is all ripped to crap and I think they just tore the face plate off cuz it won't even go back on right. They seemed to have no clue how to steal a stereo. If they did manage to eventually get it out I don't think they'd be able to get anyone to buy it in it's condition.

There is one good thing about this though. Well two actually. 1) they didn't make off with anything, oh except for the stereo remote. Which I never used anyway. and 2) I had just gotten my car back from getting fixed on friday and had gutted it out so had nothing for them to steal. Actually I'm rather surprised they didn't even look in the trunk. They could have easily stolen my sub woofer. Morons!

So, yesterday I got the window fixed and today after work I'm going over to car toys to see if they can put the thing back together again.

Concerts

So I had a bit dilemma this weekend... I heard U2 would be coming to Seattle and tickets would go on sale via Ticketmaster Saturday morning. Kewl, I love U2. I hate ticketmaster... They were to go on sale at 11:00... Okay so I got up around 8:30 or so checked my mail. hmm email from The Killers says they coming to Seattle for a concert. woohoo! ok so go to website check the schedule to see when/where they're going to be playing. Do you see where I'm going here? You guessed it they coming the same night as U2! Those frellers. Tickets are to go on sale at 10:00 that morning! Well, what do I do? What do you do? I check the tour schedules again to see if either of them are going to be playing in Portland or Vancouver. Don't really want to leave for a concert in the middle of the week. Only option is The Killers in Vancouver on a saturday night. Kewl so I ordered my Killers tickets so going to that concert, now all I gotta do is get tickets to the U2 concert right? WRONG tickets for U2 sell out in 2 minutes. I hate ticketmaster. I keep trying just in case. It doesn't even say they're sold out it just says no tickets available. So I'm thinking maybe something's wrong with their system which wouldn't surprise me I mean thousands of people are trying to buy tickets at the same time I'm sure. I try for like a half hour with no luck.

What's this? They added another show! I click on the link tickets aren't for sale yet poo. I try every now and then and a few mins later they are selling tickets to the 2nd show. Of course it's sold out by the time I try to get tickets. Stoopid U2. So we could have gotten tickets for The Killers in Seattle since we not going to U2. Oh well Vancouver's fun. Will have to go to Chinatown they have the best chinese food evar! Oh and just for fun I checked ebay to see how much U2 tickets are going for. Like $400 you gotta be kidding meh!

Kids...

Jav started it I think then Moocow did it then Silly Scented Serra did it now I'm going to chime in.

So, kids... I don't like them and neither does my brother. I think my poor mom is out of luck in the grandkid department. She doesn't bug me about it too often but she has a few times. She likes kids for some reason. She hangs around them all day so I don't know why she would want/need them since she deals with them every day. She works at a daycare at a school and she's been doing this forever. I actually did this with her for a year while I was in highschool. I didn't much care for it.

It seems to me that there's going to be a generation where there's not very many kids. I know a ton of people that don't want kids. Or maybe people will just start having kids when they're in their 40s.

There was a time when I actually did want kids. It was right after I got married. At the time I wanted kids and the ex didn't. Then a few years passed and I decided I didn't want kids anymore and guess what the ex decided he did. Luckily we never were in agreement on the kid subject so never had any. I think my main reason now for not wanting any is because they're just too much work and your life will never be the same again. I guess it's always possible I may someday change my mind but I don't really think so.

I just CANNOT STAND that high pitched screatching that comes out of their mouths. It's worse than nails on a chalk board. They just require too much patience that I just don't have anymore. I would have to kill them. And I might go to jail for that so I better not have any.

Working from home!

Yay working from home today as I'm carless and had no way to get to work. What a bummer. So, since I'm working from home today I am planning on getting some much needed yard work done. I know I won't get it all done but I'll at least get a good start on it I'm hoping. At least it's not raining and not supposed to for at least a couple days.

Things I need to do today:
1. Trim Rhodies: probably have 15 of these things spread around my back/side/front yard. The person who lived here before must have really liked them.
2. Trim roses: have about 4 roses all diff varieties shouldn't take too long
3. Trim Hydrangeas. have about 4 of those.
4. Trim Japanese Maple in the front yard
5. Trim some other odds and ends and things I dont know what they're called around the house.
6. Throw out broken pot

Stuff I still need to do but probably won't get to today:
1. Weed weed weed
2. Hack blackberry bushes
3. Buy more gravel to put on side of yard around herb garden and hot tub

ISJT

I haven't taken the Meyers Briggs Type Indicator Personality Test in a few years. I remember the first time I took it, it was for my first job in high school more than 10 years ago. At that time I was an INTJ. I've taken it a couple times since then and just took it again today after talking about it in the vanpool. I'm now an ISTJ. The description seems to fit me pretty well. I apparently have the same personality type as GWB. :o
